Precision Craft Handyman is a specialist tub-to-shower conversion business operating in Boca Raton, Highland Beach, and Delray Beach, Florida. It is owned and run by Michael Chen, Master Craftsman, under GreenTech United LLC. We are licensed and insured, with more than 25 years of trade experience behind the work.
That is the short version. Everything below is the detail that actually matters when you are deciding who to let into your home.
What we do, and what we deliberately do not
We do two things. Tub-to-shower conversions, where an existing bathtub is removed and replaced with a walk-in shower finished in 100% waterproof SPC wall panels. And over-tile shower upgrades, where an existing shower keeps its layout and gets new waterproof panels installed directly over sound existing tile.
Both are completed in a single day, typically four to eight hours on site.
We do not do full gut renovations, tile work, kitchens, or general contracting on this side of the business. That is a deliberate choice. A specialist who performs the same install repeatedly gets faster and better at it than a generalist doing it occasionally, and the one-day timeline depends entirely on that repetition.
Who you are actually dealing with
Michael answers the phone. Michael does the free measure. Michael does the install. There is no call center, no commissioned salesperson arriving in a branded car with a tablet and a discount that expires tonight, and no subcontracted crew you have never spoken to.
This matters for a practical reason beyond preference. The person who measured your bathroom is the person installing in it, so nothing is lost in translation between the quote and the work. If Michael told you something during the estimate, the person doing the job already knows it.
How the process runs
- A ten-minute conversation, by phone or through the form on this site. What you have now, roughly how big it is, what you want instead.
- A free on-site measure, about thirty minutes. Precise measurements, a genuine assessment of whether your substrate is sound, and physical panel samples left with you so you can judge the finish in your own bathroom light.
- A fixed written price at the end of that visit, before anything is ordered.
- Panels ordered, one specific date booked. Not a two-week window.
- Install day. Protection down, tub out, plumbing reset, substrate prepared, panels and trims set and sealed, fixtures reinstalled, everything tested, all debris removed, and a proper walk-through before we leave.
The jobs we turn down
This is probably the most useful section, because it tells you where our judgment sits.
We will not install over a compromised substrate. If a wall is soft from years of water behind failed grout, panels over the top would hide the problem behind a surface that now conceals it completely, and it would fail. We will tell you at the estimate, with a price for putting it right, and you are free to have anyone do that work.
We will not install a liner over a cracked pan. Trapping water between two surfaces where nothing dries and nobody can see it is not a repair.
We will tell you when tile is the better choice. If you want a genuine mosaic feature, a specific artisan tile, or you are restoring a period property where the original tile is part of its character, panels are the wrong material and we will say so.
We will tell you when you are over-improving. If the finish you are considering is more than the property will carry, that is worth hearing from the contractor rather than from an appraiser later.
Where we work
Boca Raton, Highland Beach, and Delray Beach, plus the surrounding Palm Beach County communities. Deliberately a tight radius, because a one-day install depends on arriving early, staying until it is finished, and not being two hours away if something needs attention afterwards.
We work extensively in coastal condos and know how the buildings operate: association approvals, restricted work hours, elevator reservations, and no dumpsters. A one-day install with no demolition fits inside almost any building's rules, which is often the reason clients call us rather than a tile contractor.
Who we work for
Two groups, mostly. Homeowners aged fifty-five and over who want a safer, easier bathroom without losing their only shower for two weeks. And real estate investors who need a bathroom finished between one tenancy and the next.
They want different things from the same install, and the specification changes accordingly. For a homeowner we are usually talking about grab bar blocking, a bench, and threshold height. For an investor we are talking about durable mid-tone finishes and a fixed price with no surprises.
